Leon Matthews has been doing motivational speaking for over twelve years. He has presented to public schools, churches, and other groups  across the country  and around the world on topics ranging from Lakota history to sexual abstinence.

Leon’s sense of humor and up-front style make him a favorite with youth and adults.  Leon has spoken to numerous schools across Pine Ridge Reservation while he worked as the regional director for a program promoting sexual abstinence.   In his dedication to young people, he serves as a board member of a national native youth network.

Leon spoke about AIDS, STD’s, and sexual abstinence to a crowd of more than 10,000 in India, and gave a historical presentation  on events of Native America while he visited Korea.  Amongst other distinctions, Leon has given a pre-game motivational speech for the Nebraska Corn Huskers.

We believe you will truly enjoy your experience in hearing from and interacting with Leon Matthews as so many others have!

Lakota Training  and Leadership Institute (LTLI) has been serving the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota for four years. With a 75% unemployment rate, a 90% alcoholism rate, not to mention the high occurrence of domestic abuse and gang related activity, depression and despair is around us everywhere. LTLI is a Lakota led and directed institute, to restore a sense of hope, pride and respect for the heritage, giving honor to Creator.  We have been organized to offer vocational, business, health and life-management courses, delivered with Truth principles.  We strive to bring an understanding of our people and our history to others, believing that an exchange of our experiences and traditions and wisdom and humor will benefit all.
